For International Women's Day, The Sea Republic co-organized the unveiling of an artist-designed red bench with the Yacht Club Portopiccolo at the Portopiccolo Marina—a permanent symbol of remembrance and commitment against gender-based violence.

The event consisted of two parts: an outdoor unveiling ceremony for the bench, featuring official remarks and a symbolic red ribbon cutting, followed by the "A Safe Harbor" talk at the Yacht Club. Five speakers addressed the issue of violence from complementary perspectives: institutional, economic, security, and psychological.

The fourth chapter of our collaboration with OGS, which began in 2024. Following three deployments in the Ionian and Tyrrhenian Seas, the program has expanded to the Adriatic Sea: after three days at sea, the fourth ARGO float was deployed in the heart of the Adriatic. The instrument has successfully begun its mission to monitor marine parameters, expanding the detection network already active in the central Mediterranean. The overall network—four sensors distributed across three seas—now serves as a practical tool for international climate and oceanographic research.

Cleanup operation of the beach at Cala Moresca and surrounding areas in Sardinia, organized in collaboration with Worldrise ETS, a non-profit organization active for over a decade in the effective conservation of Italian seas. The initiative involved 13 volunteers in an afternoon of collective work that demonstrated the power of coordinated action between different entities. The goal was twofold: to reduce the direct impact of waste on marine ecosystems and to raise awareness in the local community about the urgency of changing habits to prevent further environmental damage. A concrete gesture that is part of a broader vision: that of a sea restored to health, one stretch of coastline at a time.

An audiovisual production created in collaboration with Emalloru S.r.l. and directed by filmmaker Emanuele Malloru. The series addresses climate change using a fresh, dynamic, and accessible approach, specifically designed for a younger audience. Filming took place over seven months across the Mediterranean, covering Greece, Malta, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Gibraltar. The Sea Republic actively participated in the onboard filming, providing logistical and operational support during the first four episodes, and contributed financially to the costs associated with the vessel used as the set. At the time of writing the 2024 impact report, the docuseries had already reached 640,000 views.

The first official project by The Sea Republic: a free public event dedicated to career guidance in the maritime sector. The initiative was organized in collaboration with HubGrade—a Third Sector organization committed to supporting young people entering the workforce—during the "Mare in FVG" Festival at the Sala Rossa of the Trieste Chamber of Commerce. The meeting was aimed at students, young professionals, and NEETs, with the goal of guiding them toward various sea-related careers. Through interactive information sessions, participants were able to explore the landscape of maritime professions, gaining insights into roles, career opportunities, and the skills required for each path.

The future of marine conservation depends on our ability to inspire the next generation. The Sea Republic has funded the participation of two students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds in the "Rock&Sea Camp" summer programs, organized by the Miramare Marine Protected Area in Trieste. These camps offer young people an immersive experience in the marine world through marine biology lessons, snorkeling, excursions, and educational activities. This project stems from the belief that fostering an authentic, hands-on connection with the sea is an essential investment in building lasting environmental awareness: it is their generation that will face the most severe consequences of the climate crisis.

The first chapter of our collaboration with the National Institute of Oceanography and Applied Geophysics (OGS) in Trieste for the ARGO project in the Mediterranean. The ARGO float is an autonomous drifting sensor that collects data on temperature, salinity, and currents at various depths, contributing to a global scientific network for understanding climate change. The deployment took place in the Ionian Sea, 150 miles off the Italian coast, at a location approximately 4,000 meters deep—one of the deepest areas in the entire Mediterranean. The instrument has successfully begun its monitoring mission.

Continuing our collaboration with OGS, two floating sensors were deployed in the Tyrrhenian Sea at strategic locations to monitor temperature, salinity, and currents. The two instruments—released on consecutive days—have successfully begun their data collection missions, contributing to the global ARGO network and expanding the coverage of the detection network already active in the Mediterranean. These two deployments have consolidated a monitoring network distributed across some of the most strategic areas of the central Mediterranean, providing valuable data for international climate and oceanographic research.

Even before The Sea Republic officially existed, Lorenzo was already on the beach with a bag in his hand. Between January 29 and March 9, 2024—in the weeks leading up to and following the company's founding—he conducted 7 solo cleanup operations on the coast of Trieste, between Sistiana beach and the Filtri beach. No budget, no team, no clients. Just the concrete action that would define the DNA of everything that followed. Each outing was documented and posted on social media. These 48 kg of waste removed are the proof of concept for The Sea Republic's identity: act first, talk later.
