It depends on the area. In the Mediterranean, we see something almost every watch. In the open Atlantic, it's less frequent but the items are larger: whole bottles, crates, nets. We record the exact number in our database; right now, the average is 18 sightings per day of sailing.

The first night without land in sight, they slept soundly. They were the ones who woke us up to say there was a shooting star outside. When fear strikes, we handle it together, and that has been the most beautiful surprise.
